2.8.5. Conflict-related infrastructure damage and other war impacts

Between 1 March 2025 and 17 August 2026, Insecurity Insight recorded 18 attacks on health care in South Kordofan, 6 of which were reportedly perpetrated by the RSF and another 9 were attributed to the RSF together with SPLM-N. The attacks resulted in the destruction of one health facility and damaged twelve more.938 For example, in May 2026, the rocket shelling of Dilling by RSF and SPLM-N caused the destruction of a warehouse for medical supplies.939 Between 1 March 2025 and 31 May 2026, Insecurity Insight documented nine attacks on schools and one attack on a university, with ten of these incidents causing damage or destruction to the infrastructure.940 In June 2026, two key bridges along the road between Kadugli and Dilling were destroyed, disrupting the movement of civilians and aid operations.941
