In the reference period covered by the previous EUAA COI Report Sudan – Security Situation (February 2025), the Darfur Joint Forces made territorial gains in the northern areas bordering Chad, briefly gaining control of Jabal Umm in late September 2024688 and Kulbus town in early October 2024.689 Control of the area shifted to the RSF later that month,690 while tensions in the area persisted.691
