Search within Sudan: Security Situation
In the reference period covered by the previous EUAA COI Report Sudan – Security Situation (February 2025), the RSF briefly claimed to have captured Merowe airport at the start of the armed conflict in April 2023,1157 a claim which was denied by the SAF.1158 ACLED, as of December 2025, described Northern state as having remained uncontested since the start of the war and remaining under SAF control.1159
