Search within Sudan: Security Situation
Between 1 March 2025 and 31 August 2026, ACLED recorded 22 security events in Kassala state. Of these, 8 were coded as battles, 3 as explosions/remote violence and 11 as violence against civilians. The highest incident rates were recorded in May 2025 (eight incidents), all other months recorded between one and four incidents. During the reference period, ACLED recorded security incidents in half of the ten districts1244 of Kassala. The highest number was documented in Madinat Kassala district (15 incidents). Of the 11 incidents coded as ‘violence against civilians’ with 12 recorded fatalities, 4 involved unidentified armed groups and 3 Kassala Communal Militia.1245
