2.10.3. Security incidents

Between 1 March 2025 and 31 August 2026, ACLED recorded 75 security events in Al Jazirah state. Of these, 17 were coded as battles, 24 as explosions/remote violence and 34 as violence against civilians. The highest incident rate was recorded in March 2025 (30 incidents), while for the remaining months ACLED recorded between 1 and 7 incidents. During the reference period, ACLED recorded security incidents in all eight districts1014 of Al Jazirah, with the highest number recorded in Al Kamlin district (30 incidents), followed by Al Hasahisa and Madani Al-Kubra districts with 10 incidents each. Of the 34 incidents coded as ‘violence against civilians’ with 52 recorded fatalities, 18 incidents involved the SAF or various allied armed groups and militia, and 15 involved the RSF.1015
