2.6.5. Conflict-related infrastructure damage and other war impacts

Insecurity Insight between 1 March 2025 and 31 August 2026 recorded four attacks on health care in Central Darfur, one of which was reportedly perpetrated by the RSF and the remaining three by unidentified armed actors. The attacks resulted in the damaging of one health facility.809

In June 2025, armed actors held five humanitarian workers and two vehicles for 48 hours along the key Zalingei–Nertiti humanitarian corridor.810 In Zalingei, attacks on health facilities led MSF to suspend or scale back operations in August811 and November 2025, 812 while a specialised health centre temporarily closed following an attack by relatives of a patient in July 2026.813 The RSF-aligned civil administration reported damage to residential areas and parts of the Khamsa Daqaiq IDP camp following drone strikes in March 2026.814

In the Mukjar area, more than 30 farms were reportedly destroyed amid violence between herders and farmers in the 2025 harvest season,815 while the burning of a settlement was reported in December 2025.816 Destruction of farmland by armed herders was also reported in Bindisi, Mukjar, Garsila, and in areas north and east of Zalingei.817
