2.2. North Darfur

During the reference period covered by the previous EUAA COI Report Sudan – Security Situation (February 2025), the RSF began its siege of the city El Fasher.542 In April 2024, the Darfur Joint Force had abandoned its former neutrality and declared war on the RSF,543 and, among other operations, seized an area from the RSF north of Kutum, in October 2024.544
