In March 2025, missile strikes destroyed the government headquarters in El Daein, which served as the RSF’s civilian administration centre, and also targeted the health insurance headquarters.770 Between 1 March 2025 and 17 August 2026, Insecurity Insight recorded five attacks on health care in East Darfur, two of which were reportedly perpetrated by the SAF and one by the RSF. The attacks resulted in the damaging of two health facilities.771 In March 2026, air strikes rendered Al-Daein Teaching Hospital out of service.772 In April 2026, the RSF were accused of raiding Al-Usra Hospital in the Al-Nazir neighbourhood of El Daein and assaulting medical personnel. The attack reportedly caused damage to the facility and destroyed medical equipment.773 Insecurity Insight did not record any attacks on educational facilities during the reference period.774
