In the reference period covered by the previous EUAA COI Report Sudan – Security Situation (February 2025), the SAF maintained control of the state1214 and established training camps for fighters from armed groups of the Darfur Joint Forces there.1215 The RSF, meanwhile, only managed limited incursions from neighbouring Al Jazirah state into the area around El Fao (El Faw) in western Gedaref throughout 2024.1216
