Between 1 March 2025 and 17 August 2026, Insecurity Insight recorded 12 attacks on health care in South Darfur, 5 of which were reportedly perpetrated by the RSF. The attacks resulted in the damaging of 3 facilities.676 Between 1 March 2025 and 31 May 2026, the organisation documented one attack on a school and two attacks on universities, in one case resulting in damage of or destruction to the infrastructure.677
In May 2025, SAF drones reportedly hit Nyala airport678 and, in June 2025, further drone attacks were reported in the city, including on the Al-Daman Hotel, the airport, and a residential neighbourhood.679 In July 2025, student dormitories used by RSF troops in Nyala were hit in SAF drone attacks.680 On 30 August 2025, a SAF drone strike reportedly hit the Yashfeen medical facility in Nyala.681 In April 2026, an SAF drone strike hit the Sengo gold mining area, likely targeting infrastructure tied to the RSF-linked Al-Junaid Company.682
In communal violence in May 2026, villages were burnt near Kubum town,683 while early June 2026, a marketplace and rural hospital were hit by drones in the town.684
