Between January and June 2025, OHCHR documented eight civilian deaths in the context of the conflict in Central Darfur.798 Between 16 November 2024 and 15 November 2025, the organisation documented 229 civilian casualties in the whole Darfur region, excluding North Darfur.799 AOAV recorded 98 casualties caused by explosive weapons in Central Darfur between March 2025 and April 2026,800 including 75 recorded in April 2026.801 Drone strikes resulted in civilian casualties,802 for example in Um Dukhun in April 2026.803 Patients were treated by MSF following drone strikes near Zalingei in September 2025804 and February 2026,805 and also in April 2026, when MSF treated 28 people at Zalingei Teaching Hospital wounded in four drone strikes. Two deaths were also reported in April 2026.806 ACLED observed that the security incidents it recorded in Central Darfur between 1 March 2025 and 31 August 2026 caused an estimated 232 fatalities.807
