According to IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Data, as of 30 July 2026, Kassala state was hosting 42 754 IDPs, over 50 % of them displaced from Khartoum (22 203), followed by 13 596 IDPs displaced there from Al Jazirah. Of the total number of IDPs in Kassala state, 11 188 IDPs were located in Halfa Al-Jadeeda district, followed by Madinat Kassala district with 9 464 IDPs and Reifi Aroma with 6 695 IDPs. At the same time, an additional 255 displaced persons from Kassala state were hosted in other states. As of 28 July 2026, IOM had not recorded any IDP returns in Kassala state.1251
