Between January and June 2025, OHCHR documented 11 civilian deaths in the context of the conflict in West Darfur.717 Between 16 November 2024 and 15 November 2025, the organisation documented 229 civilian casualties in the whole Darfur region, excluding North Darfur.718 AOAV recorded 152 casualties caused by explosive weapons in West Darfur between March 2025 and April 2026, including 113 recorded between February and April 2026.719 In December 2025, two drone strikes in El Geneina reportedly killed 17 people, including women and children.720 In April 2026, a strike on Al-Jumruk market killed five people and injured 20, while another strike on a civilian vehicle near Sisi killed five civilians.721 Days later, a strike on the Adukong border crossing killed three porters and injured dozens of workers, most of them reportedly Chadian nationals.722 In May 2026, another drone strike in El Geneina reportedly killed two people and injured three.723 ACLED observed that the security incidents it recorded in West Darfur between 1 March 2025 and 31 August 2026 caused an estimated 463 fatalities.724
