In October 2025, the SNHR recorded 5 civilian fatalities in Deir Ez-Zor governorate, 3 in November, 7 in December, 3 in January 2026, 9 in February, 8 in March, 3 in April and 2 in the following month, as of 31 May 2026.986 Between October 2025 and 31 May 2026, all recorded civilian fatalities in the governorate were attributed to actors that SNHR could not identify, except for five civilians killed by SDF forces in November and December 2025, and one civilian killed by Assad remnants in May 2026.987 An analysis of the period since the fall of Bashar Al-Assad indicates that the number of monthly civilian fatalities remained between around 10 and 30 from December 2024 to April 2025 and below 10 in the remaining months of 2025.988
