According to IOM’s population movement assessment, the IDP population in Quneitra governorate increased by about 1 700 individuals between February 2025 (about 5 400 or 5 % of a total population of approximately 109 000)1367 and March 2026 (about 7 100 or 6 % of a total population of approximately 119 000).1368
UNHCR estimated that as of 21 May 2026, around 1 600 individuals had returned to locations in Quneitra governorate from internal displacement since December 2024.1369 Within the same period, about 30 600 individuals had returned to the governorate from abroad.1370
