Between 1 October 2025 and 31 May 2026, ACLED recorded 107 security incidents in Rural Damascus governorate, of which 55 were coded as violence against civilians, 29 as explosions or remote violence, and 23 as battles. Since the fall of Assad (between 9 December 2024 and 31 May 2026), ACLED recorded 387 security incidents. Of these, 183 were coded as violence against civilians, 126 as explosions or remote violence, and 78 as battles. Most security incidents were recorded in December 2024 (40 incidents), March (33 incidents), and May 2025 (34 incidents). Since then, the number of incidents generally decreased. During the current reporting period, most security incidents were recorded in October 2025 with 24 incidents. Unidentified armed groups, either coded as Actor 1 or Actor 2, were the main actor of violence, involved in 74 incidents between 1 October 2025 and 31 May 2026 mainly targeting civilians. About 28 % of security incidents happened in Rural Damascus district.1094
