In the period from 1 October 2025 to 31 May 2026, SNHR recorded four civilian fatalities in Damascus governorate.1042 Of these, two were recorded in November 2025,1043 one in January, and one in February 2026. Between October 2025 and May 2026, all recorded civilian fatalities in the governorate were attributed to actors that SNHR could not identify.1044 With a share of less than 1 % of the total countrywide number of fatalities (268), Damascus was one of the governorates with the fewest fatalities in the first quarter of 2026.1045 An analysis of the period since the fall of Bashar Al-Assad confirms that Damascus was among the governorates with the lowest number (around 0-3) of monthly civilian fatalities, interrupted by a significant peak (25) in June and higher numbers (10) in July 2025.1046
