Between 1 October 2025 and 31 May 2026, ACLED recorded 32 security incidents in Damascus governorate, of which 21 incidents were coded as violence against civilians, 8 as explosions or remote violence, and 3 as battles. By comparison, since the fall of Assad (between 9 December 2024 and 31 May 2026), ACLED recorded 131 security incidents. Of these, 86 were coded as violence against civilians, 29 as explosions or remote violence, and 16 as battles. The highest numbers of security incidents were recorded in December 2024 with 16, in May 2025 with 11, in July with 17, and in August with 10 incidents. During the reporting period, the highest number of security incidents was recorded in October and December 2025, with 6 incidents each.

Between 1 October 2025 and 31 May 2026, unidentified armed groups, either coded as Actor 1 or Actor 2, were the main actor of violence, involved in 25 incidents mainly targeting civilians.1041
