Between 1 October 2025 and 31 May 2026, 108 security incidents were recorded by ACLED in Hama governorate, around half of which (55) were coded as explosions/remote violence, 45 as incidents of violence against civilians, and 8 as battles. Analysing the period from 9 December 2024 to 31 May 2026, 60 % of incidents (287 out of 482) were coded as violence against civilians. Security incidents peaked in both January (57 incidents) and March 2025 (51 incidents),620 coinciding with the wave of sectarian violence in March.621 From April until October 2025, incidents averaged around 30, and starting from November 2025 onwards they fell below 20 for the remainder of the reporting period. The most significant security threat in Hama governorate between 9 December 2024 and 30 September 2025 was violence against civilians (65 % of all security incidents), most of which was sub-categorised as attacks by unidentified armed groups.622

According to ACLED data, security incidents occurred in all five districts of Hama governorate during the reference period. The highest number was documented in Hama district (36 incidents), followed by As-Suqaylabiyah (28 incidents). Main actors involved in security incidents (coded as either ‘Actor 1’ or ‘Actor 2’) were unidentified armed groups (89 incidents out of 108).624
