According to the UNHCR Protection & Return Monitoring Network (PRMN), 161 630 individuals were newly displaced in Somalia due to conflict or insecurity during the period from April 2025 to February 2026, while another 554 897 were displaced by drought and flooding. The highest numbers of conflict-related displacements occurred in Lower Juba (34 081 individuals), Hiraan (33 146) and Gedo (29 107) regions.181 The conflict linked to Al-Shabaab182 and military offensives remained key drivers of displacement across multiple regions,183 alongside clan violence184 and reprisal attacks.185
