DESCRIPTION

This module aims to provide learners with knowledge related to the scope of the MedCOI database and the role of MedCOI in the field of international protection.

MedCOI Basic covers searching the MedCOI database and interpreting information found in query responses, with a focus on the effective use of the MedCOI database.

MedCOI Advanced covers developing case-specific questions and launching MedCOI requests, with a focus on the MedCOI request process.

It prepares learners to apply this knowledge in the context of assessing health-related claims, an increasingly relevant aspect in protection cases.

At the end of this module, the learner will be able to:

Knowledge

1. Describe the scope and role of MedCOI in different procedures.

2. Outline the legal standards and different practices in EU Member States.

3. Explain the differences between general COI and MedCOI.

Competences

4. Formulate reliable questions, search for and interpret information on MedCOI in the MedCOI database.

5. Launch an individual request.

DELIVERY METHOD

This module is delivered through a blended learning approach, combining online studies and face-to-face sessions.

The online component focuses on learning activities that assess progress toward the learning outcomes, and face-to-face sessions focus on complex elements that require discussion.
