COMMON ANALYSIS
Last update: June 2025

The analysis is based on the following EUAA COI report: Country Focus 2025, 1.3.5, 1.3.7. Country Guidance should not be referred to as a source of COI. The section below should be read in conjunction with most recent COI available at the time of the examination.

For information on the human rights violations committed by other non-state actors before the fall of the Assad regime, see EUAA, '3.6. Other non-State actors' in Country Guidance: Syria, April 2024.

Other non-State actors, such as family members, the society at large, criminal gangs, unaffiliated gunmen, and other armed groups also committed human rights violations.

Some examples include domestic, sexual and gender-based violence against women and girls and violence against persons with diverse SOGIESC (also referred to as LGBTIQ persons).
