Connecting with citizens in Malta to celebrate Europe Day

Every year, Europe Day is celebrated across the Union on 9 May. As the only EU Agency in Malta, the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA) took part in three activities commemorating the day in the country. Celebrations began on 29 April in Gozo, in an event organised by Europe Direct Gozo, where we had the pleasure of speaking to people about our work helping Member States with their asylum and reception systems, and ensuring all asylum seekers are treated equally.

One week later, on 9 May, we were present in not one, but two events organised in Malta. We participated in the event put together by Europe Direct Valletta with a stand where we welcomed people to discuss the work of the EUAA. On the same day, we were also at the European Village, an event organised by JEF Malta at the University of Malta, where we met very curious and interested students who were interested to learn more about our work.

Last but not least, we published the video "Europe Day 2023: Safeguarding your Life & Well-being" where we commemorate the thousands of dedicated professionals who go to work every day with one goal in mind: safeguarding the life and well-being of all citizens of the EU.
