Learning outcomes & description

DESCRIPTION

This module aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills necessary for the screening of third-country nationals and stateless persons under the Screening Regulation, in connection with the aspects relevant to access to international protection, and in line with the EU asylum acquis and Fundamental rights, while taking into account the special and specific needs of vulnerable persons during the screening process.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of this module, the learner will be able to:

Knowledge

  1. Outline the elements of the screening process according to the EU legal framework and key fundamental rights.

    Skills

  2. Provide information to third-country nationals and stateless persons about their rights and obligations during the screening process.
  3. Gather the relevant information during the screening process.

DELIVERY METHOD

The module can be delivered either as a fully automated online course or through a face-to-face training approach. The online delivery is asynchronous and allows learners to progress at their own pace using digital learning materials, while the face-to-face option is delivered synchronously and may include optional learner hours. Both delivery methods use the same core content and learning resources to ensure consistency in learning outcomes.

ASSESSMENT STRATEGY

This module can be delivered either as a fully automated online training or through a face-to-face approach, using two alternative learning strategies. The online delivery consists of asynchronous elements such as module content, videos or animations, and interactive learning activities, while the face-to-face option includes synchronous sessions supported by the same core content and learning materials. Videos and animations are used to illustrate realistic screening scenarios and support learning activities. Interactive exercises—such as quizzes, multiple-choice questions, sorting and text-completion tasks, scenario-based questions, and reflective activities—enable learners to assess their knowledge and skills, monitor progress, and identify areas for improvement throughout the training.
