Learning outcomes & description

DESCRIPTION

This module provides an overview of the Eurodac database, including its scope and purposes on the basis of Regulation (EU) 2024/1358 (the ‘Eurodac Regulation’). It also introduces the fundamental concepts of biometric data, outlines the core functions of Eurodac, and focuses on the categories registered and the data processing. This module also provides knowledge of the obligations and rights of people who are subject to Eurodac.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of this module, the learner will be able to:

  1. Outline the fundamental notions of Eurodac and biometric data.

    Skills

  2. Apply the rules governing the collection, transmission and comparison of data in compliance with the relevant quality standards.

    Competences

  3. Carry out tasks related to ensuring that people who are subject to data processing in Eurodac comply with their obligations without risking a breach of their fundamental rights and implementing the rules in respect of their other rights, including guidelines, parameters and limits of processing data pertaining to children.
