EUAA explores the potential of AI in revolutionising adult training
In the new digital era, vocational education is at the forefront of equipping individuals with the skills and competencies necessary to thrive in a rapidly changing workforce. On 15-16 June 2023, at the Ministry of Migration and Asylum in Athens, EUAA trainers from all over EU Member States, discussed and debated factors and trends that affect and shape the role of the professional trainer, based on scientific research. The discussions were fostered by talks and presentations given by renowned experts in the field.
What was discussed:
- Putting Learners First: Addressing challenges such as motivation, attention, and skill development through neuroscience and educational technology. Designing engaging courses which stimulate learners.
- Cognitive and Emotional Empathy: Understanding learners' needs and challenges and connecting with their emotions. Igniting positive emotions for passion and tackling barriers to learning.
- Embracing New Possibilities: Exploring game-design methods and emerging technologies such as mixed reality and virtual reality to provide immersive learning experiences.
- ChatGPT's Impact: Introducing ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence (AI) language model that revolutionises adult training. It offers personalised and interactive learning experiences through real-time conversations, answering questions, providing guidance, and simulating practical scenarios.
- Charting the Path Ahead: Cultivating a culture of innovation, collaboration, and adaptability to shape the future of adult education. Equipping individuals with the skills and mindset necessary to thrive in an ever-changing world.
